MONOTHEIST Welcome Chris Stropoli (Drums), And Confirm Cooper Bates As New Vocalist; Tour Dates With
Orlando's MONOTHEIST will kick off the new year with a brand new line up. Staying true to their unstoppable form, the tech death macabre have already confirmed tour dates next month supporting COGNITIVE alongside THE MACHINST. Just before they takeoff on tour, MONOTHEIST will also be seen live in Orlando at Soundbar with DEICIDE. All dates below.
"Hi everyone! With a new year comes new happenings in the Monotheist camp. First of all, our lineup has shifted since our tour last summer. The band and our former vocalist JJ “Shiv” Polachek have decided to part ways. JJ has been in the band for ten years, the longest tenure of any member besides myself (Prophet) and over the last decade he has become a brother. Needless to say, it’s saddening to see him go, but he and the band are on different creative paths, and it’s important to do what’s right to thrive as an artist and a person. With that said, Monotheist wishes JJ well on any and all future ventures. He is an extremely talented vocalist (as you all know) and, personally, I’m looking forward to whatever he does next. Fortunately for us, our former drummer, Cooper, has decided to step up as vocalist. Cooper is also a very talented individual and has already contributed some lead vocals to our music (parts of “Abominable Acts”, for example) so some of you will have heard him already. However, we are excited to let Cooper show the world what he can do as a full time vocalist for the band and we are confident he is going to kill it. Since he won’t be playing drums for us anymore, we’d like to welcome our good friend, Chris Stropoli (Thy Antichrist, Sons of Ragnar), to the band full time behind the skins. If you caught us on our tour last summer, then you’ve seen what he’s capable of - he’s a beast! We are excited to unveil this new revitalized line up at our show with Deicide on Feb. 1st at Soundbar in Orlando, FL! Furthermore, we are also stoked to announce a winter tour with our friends Cognitive and The Machinist! We will be hitting the northeast of the states, as well as a few dates in Canada. Make sure you come out and catch us in February; Check out the tour flier for more info and dates! See you guys next month!" comments MONOTHEIST guitarist Tyler McDaniel.
On their latest album titled Scourge, MONOTHEIST pair feral brutality with melodic sensibilities; lacing each song with signature death metal riffage and psychedelic explorations into classical and jazz realms.
