THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA Brings their Act to Fresno

The Devil Wears Prada Brings Their Act To Fresno

By Mickey Renger – November 12, 2019

Lots of lights, my camera, and tons of action as Christian metalcore giants, The Devil Wears Prada, put on an epic sold out show at Strummer’s in Fresno, CA, in support of their new album, The Act. Supporting acts, Norma Jean and Gideon, set the table for a show that will be talked about for a while.

The Ohio based band consists of original members; Mike Hranica – lead vocals, Jeremy DePoyster – rhythm guitar/vocals, Andy Trick – bass guitar, along with newer member Kyle Sipress – lead guitar/backing vocals, and touring musicians Jonathan Gering – keyboards/synthesizers and Giuseppe Capolupo – drums.

The band opened their set with Switchblade, which immediately put the crowd into a frenzy, with over half of the venue becoming one gigantic pit. Hranica and the rest of his TDWP bandmates loosened up a bit, and began to unleash song after song, with a light show spectacle that reminded you of the old Fantasmic show at Disneyland.

In a little over an hour, and thirteen songs in, they ended with Born to Lose, Asteroid, and Hey John, What’s Your Name Again? Even though they played seventeen songs, it did not seem like enough, especially for the energetic crowd, who were yearning for more.

After finishing up this tour, they will go across the pond with Gideon, to support Stray From The Path’s European winter tour. If you have not seen TDWP yet, I highly recommend getting out to see them. Luckily, you won’t have to wait long, as they will be on tour with, We Came As Romans in the spring of 2020.
